Does anyone have the name of a guy I can yell at in the DVD production and distribution sector of Hollywood?
Because my favourite Audrey Hepburn film, Two for the Road, doesn’t exist on DVD.
Which means our shiny new Netflix Queue of Joy and Couch-Potatoness, which has brought Stuart and me hours upon hours of amusing choice and reorganization (“Can we watch Blackadder the same week as Fear and Loathing?”) is sadly bereft of one of my favourite films of all time.
I may just have to buy it. ON VHS. GASP.
Someone do something, QUICK. I’m reverting to the 20th century!

oh my… i don’t even have a vhs player!
Girl, don’t get me started! My sweetness and I have been DYING to get “The African Queen” yet those DVD bastards won’t yet release it!!!
Its amazing some of the crap they WILL put out on DVD, yet these classics get ignored

I understand your frustration. One of my all time favorite movies is NOT on DVD either. It, however, IS a crap movie. (Night of the Comet… hardly anyone else has ever seen it) But there are many many stupid things on DVD and I wish they would just mind us and put these movies we need to own out.
But then, they’d just change the format again and there we’d be, like that guy in Men In Black, having to “buy the White album again.” It’s a conspiracy.
Ya gotta have a VHS player for this very reason! The list of movies that are not available on DVD is criminal!
Tell me about it, they dont have eight days a week. A freakin masterpeice but unfortunately if they dont think they are going to make any profit they dont convert to DVD cause it’s pretty expensive. Especially the old ones cause they have to clean the entire film. Have fun during movie week.
Listen, I have it on VHS and would be happy to mail it off to you as a wedding present, and no, we don’t know each other, and as is probably the case all over d-land, it would be difficult to explain why I found myself reading this. I am the Director of Theatre at a small college in North Carolina. Let me know if you want it, and it’s yours.
