I don’t do this very often but I’d like to link to two new blogs. Well, one new and one new to me. Tiffany and her guy are traveling around the world and they’re currently in China. She’s got such a fresh, curious voice that I found myself sifting through her archives both for places I’ve been, to see her take, and places I haven’t, for the same reason. Go there, have a browse around, and never forget your runcible spoon.
Also of note, my best friend from high school, the more holy in the unholy trinity of Erin, myself, and her: Rachel has started a blog. That’s the only time you’ll see her referred to her properly spelt name on this site, because I much prefer calling her Raychul. Pop over there to follow the depths of hilarious madness she gets into when her brilliant mind starts wandering. God knows how the world will cope with Lawyer Raychul.
Looking at new blogs (something I’ll admit I do very rarely because I’m a lazy bastard, okay) made me realize that the last time I asked you all to introduce yourself was sometime in the wilds of 2003, and I’ve lost those comments to the ether of site transition.
So, I’m asking again. If you stop here regularly on your blog rounds (or even if you don’t but you’re feeling friendly), please say hello. Say who you are and where you blog, if you do. Also, tell me your least favourite food and your most favourite word. Just for fun.
Hi! I’m Krissa. I blog here. I hate shrimp (because they look like cockroaches) and I love serendipity (because it makes me think of friendly snakes).

HI, I’m Christina, I read your site every few days and have my own blog at http://www.sophisticatedswingny.blogspot.com
I’m a don’t like chicken and my favorite word is
onomatopoeia..it just rolls off the tongue so nicely.
Hey, I’m Erin, I read your site every few days and have my own blog at http://www.pinkandgreengirl.com
Like you I am newly married.
My least favorite food is (are?) peas, and my favorite word is tomfoolery.
Hi Krissa, I am Jess – least favorite food is radishes. They don’t have a purpose – sure they add color to a salad but have no taste. They are like a pretty girl with out a personality. My most favorite word is discombobulate – say it – it’s just fun to say.
I forgot – my blog is sassysuspect.blogspot.com
Oh, don’t think you guys don’t have to say how often you swing by, there won’t be marks off for frequency!
Hi Krissa, I’m Jillian. I started reading your blog a few months ago and stop by on my morning rounds to check-in. I don’t have a blog because the thought terrifies me to no end.
My least favorite food is brussel sprouts (I realize that’s extremely cliche, but I’m a foodie and I eat and love everything else, and one day I decided to whip up some B.S. to give them a fair chance and see what all the fuss was about. It was horrible. They smelled like eau-de-russian-cabbie-feet. One of my favorite words is ‘sfuso’ (loose wine, in italian).
Hi! I’m Rachel. (or Raychul, if you prefer.) I hate blue cheese because it tastes like barf. I am a bit of a word fiend and have a whole list of words I like/dislike on my blog. But… I’ll have to go with “anemone” for the sake of brevity.
My blog is at http://www.easterlilies.blogspot.com
Hi, I’m Janna. I blog at ottergreen.blogspot.com. I hate Chinese food (because it makes me sick) and I love welkin (because it makes me think of my favorite Christmas carol).
hello krissa!
i’m sassylittlepunkin (sassy to some, punkin to many, bitch to no one) and i blog chez sassylittlepunkin.blogspot.com. i loathe cooked green peas, no matter fresh, frozen, or canned, because, well, i’m not sure why. it’s probably quite irrational. i do, however, enjoy pea pods. go figure. my favorite word is imagine. i’ve been reading you for two years now!
sassy! two years! have i actually been blogging that long? *checks archives* wow. yes, i have.
hi! i’m jaime. i blog at jaimesplace.blogspot.com. i can’t think of a food i actually hate, but i prefer not to eat tomatoes (it’s all about the slimey seeds…ew) i also can’t think of my favorite word (there’s too many i like) but my least favorite is definitely panties. and as a bonus i’ll tell you that i’m not good at thinking of things on the spot.
Hey Krissa,
I’m Erica, I’ve been reading your blog like crazy for about a year and started my own recently at http://www.ericaamcdaniel.com. My least favorite food is mealy apples. Right this minute my favorite word is mascarpone, but that’s liable to change at any moment. I’m pretty solid on the mealy apple issue though. Thanks for all the great blogging!!
Hi Krissa,
I blog about food and restaurants over at lesdeuxmargots.typepad.com. Oddly enough, I have been separately reading both your blog, and Smitten’s (Deb) for a long time and got such a kick when I found out that you two are friends in real life!
My least favorite food is cottage cheese, and my most favorite word is bon! (French)
Hello! I’m Susan and I read your blog on a regular basis. I found you through my dear friend, Mike Wolf, who linked to you from his blog.
My least favorite food is seafood (any and all kinds)and my favorite word is crepuscular.
I’m laura, sometimes you can find me at xanga.com/laurafwiu…who knows where i found your blog. I despise mayo and i love the word brouhaha.
Somewhat unrelatedly, my favourite word in French is “pamplemousse” (grapefruit) but my other favourite word in french is “crepuscule” which means “twilight” and is SUCH an anomaly in french as being the most unromantic, unattractive-sounding word for such a beautiful thing.
I mean, twilight? Crepuscule? It sounds like an infection. And that makes me like it.
Hi There,
My name is Tammie and I don’t have a blog because I don’t have time at the moment, but hope to someday soon.
I love all foods, but if I had to pick a least favorit it would be smoked cheese of any kind. The smoking compromises the flavor of the cheese.
My favorite word at the moment is hooker as in “CNN’s Daryn Kagen is such a hooker for sleeping her way into her job and now boinking Rush Limbaugh.” Plus, ew!
hola! i’m dharmabum (via jensidewayrain) at diaryland.com. my least favorite food is eggplant (a bad experience turned me sour), and my favorite word of the moment is ‘smitten.’ i think it’s because of the t’s.
Hi Krissa,
I’m Lisa. I read your blog everyday since becoming completely entranced by the Krissa/Stuart love story. V.magical!
I hate raisins. And most dried fruit. My favorite word is Antigonish (a town in Nova Scotia. Must be pronounced in best East Coast accent- Anigunish.)
Hi Krissa,
I stop by every day. I’m on the West Coast. I pretend to blog at chelleann.blogspot.com
I do not like refried beans and if I smell them I cannot eat anything else without wanting to regurgitate.
My favorite word is: Macaroni. Say it with me, MAC A ROAN EEEEEE.
M.
Hi, I’m Lori. I blog at http://mingaling.typepad.com. I hate raw tomatoes because they’re oozy and the smell makes me nauseous. My favorite word is “apparently” because it just rolls off the tongue. That, and “fuckwit.”
Harloo there. Sgt. Styro reporting in for duty. I stop by about once a month to catch up on your marital bliss. I hate mushrooms because they grow on poop, and I love pho tai because it is the perfection of all things vietnamese. My favorite word is onomatopoeia because it makes mouths happy.
Hi, my name is Ariella. My favorite word is “apocryphal” and my least favorite food is probably eggplant, though if you’ve ever had natto (fermented soybeans; a delicacy in Japan) you’d understand why it ties in my mind for the worst food imaginable.
Hi Krissa, I’m Clink and a daily reader due to a) the fact that you’re so entertaining and lovely to read and b) a decided lack of interest in my job.
I blog at http://www.clinknewyork.blogspot.com.
Lamb & olives are the only foods I don’t like (which alternately amuses and astounds my Greek family) and my favorite word is cocktail. For obvious reasons.
Hi, I’m Laurie and I found your blog via the fish and I found her blog via a random search for the term “dan-jumbo”. I don’t like raspberries even with chocolate. I have so many favorite words it’s hard to pick but one of my all time faves is “duplicity”. I stop by regularly and I blog (mostly) at http://www.livejournal.com/toolprincess.
Hi Krissa – my name is Alison. Least favorite food is Lima Beans (Yech!) Right now, my favorite word is captivate.
My blog: inspiredworkofselfindulgence.blogspot.com
hello! my name’s Rachel. I blog at modmonkey.typepad.com. I honestly can not remember how I found you or when… I think it’s been years. my LEAST favorite food… the one food that would make me gag at the mere smell of it would be some combination of fennel mixed with scrambled eggs and topped with those tiny fish with the big blue eyes that they always put on salads in Japan. bleh. Favorite word? currently… ‘passport’
love reading you, keep up the good work!
Clink, I don’t like olives and feta. Greek family, see, astounded.
Ma’am,
Greetings from usdlawboy.blogspot.com. I absolutely detest scallops (because I don’t know what they are). But not so much as to make me “apoplectic” (I like that it pops).
Krissa, in what way do shrimp look like cockroaches?
Greetings and salutations, I’m Miss Lis and I blog over at http://rockhaus.typepad.com/. I started reading shortly after you and Stuart met. I love your writing style, and the Stuart and Krissa story warms the embers of my cynical cold black heart. I love edamame, and will not eat invertebrates. I enjoy the word defenestration.
Hi! I’m Katy, my blog is: http://hellokaty.blogspot.com
I really hate mushrooms (something about eating a fungus really grosses me out). My favourite word is FIRETRUCK. say it outloud, it has so many good sounds in it. you can also use it in an 8-year old type joke: what word begins with F and ends in UCK?
My name is Lisa. I’ve been reading this site since…well, right before you moved to the new address. I love hearing about you and Stuart and your life in New York. Someday I’ll go, but until then, I can live vicariously through you and Fish. Your writing style is really awesome. You do have a way to really speak to one’s heart. I don’t have a blog, but I make sure to stop here on my rounds. It’s pretty weird to know so much about people you will never meet, but you can’t stop reading. Oh, I meandered my way over here from queserasera. I’ve been reading that site for about 3 or 4 years. Favorite word…facetious. (It is one of the only two words in the English language that has all 5 vowels in order.)
Yeia sou, I’m Aerialplankton. Those stinky grey breakfast sausage logs are my least favorite food. My favorite word this month is ziggurat.
Hi Krissa! I’m relatively new to you (couple months) and very new to blogging http://cometolalaland.blogspot.com (couple weeks!) but I’ve quickly come to love your site and writing style, and stuarts! I found you somehow through a chain of linking that began with Dooce…
Least fave food: black olives. just because.
Fave word: right now “Douche Bag”. Classy.
Krissa,
My blog: http://ohreallyfactor.blogspot.com
Least favorite food: calamari. blech!!
Favorite word: hmmm…for some reason, at this moment, “anachronistic” comes to mind.
General comment: I too am an Astoria-dweller, so in addition to your charming words, I enjoy the tales and pics of our ‘hood. We should have tea sometime on the N train!
Cheers,
forest
hi Krissa. i’m Fleecey from Lounge Act. i read your blog pretty much everyday- i have a very boring and brainless job that affords me a lot of time in the blog world.
i dislike radishes and stupidity (and also the combination of both things), but i absolutely love imported beer and the word ‘effervescent’.
http://justaloungeact.blogspot.com
hello, i’m kate. i found you through dooce. my least favorite foods…that would be a tie between mushrooms and broccoli. my favorite word is persnickety, but i really enjoy despicable as well. i don’t blog, but am addicted to reading blogs while at work. perhaps this says something about my job.
ahoy matey — i’m devlyn. i write at somethingclever.net. i don’t remember how i found you, but i’ve been around for a while (at least a year +). you are on my blogrolling list, therefore get daily hits and refreshes from me.
my least favourite food is probably peas. i can’t eat them. they taste like puke. as for the word, i rather enjoy “advertisement”, though i pronounce it ad-vurt-iz-ment, like you’re probably used to at this time. oh, i also like “rien” and “desolee” in french quite a bit.
Hello Krissa. I’m Susanne. My least favorite food is honeydew (cheap substitute for more strawberries in fruit salad) and I don’t really have a favorite word. Hmm..must work on that.
PS i just happened to link you in my recent ramblings about being jealous of NY’ers. My friend Matt just moved to Astoria last weekend.
and the whole “been around for a while” thing refers to reading your blog… as for internet years, we’re going on 11.
Hi Krissa-
I’m Sara – I read your blog during my more boring moments at work. I have a new blog at obtusevita.blogspot.com. Found you through tequilamockingbird, which I found through the blog of a guy I went on a blind date with. Blind dates ARE good for something…for reading material.
Favorite word is anonymity. Least favorite food is clams, well, cause they’re gross.
Hiya, I’m Victoria and I blog at Revelry. My least favorite food is fish (I blame it on being forced to endure fishsticks as a child, the same reason why I’m not a fan of Neal Diamond or the TV show “Tour of Duty”) and I love the word paprika (mainly because I’ve found it impossible to ever say the word and not smile during the second syllable. “Pa-PREE-ka!”).
Er, “Neil,” even.
Damn typos.
Hi Krissa – I have been reading for some time now. I think originally you were linked on a friend’s blog, but I can’t remember! Now you’re a favorite and a regular read. My least favorite food is sushi of any kind. My favorite word today is GOSH! And I am pretty sure it has something to do with my undying love of Napoleon.
Hey there, I’m Britt. Don’t blog but read them almost daily. I hate pickles and I love the word anomoly.
Hey Krissa, I’m Melissa. I come to enjoy your reads almost daily. My least favourite food would have to be tripe. I’ve never even touched the stuff, but come on, should that even be edible? My favourite word is “sternocleidomastoid,” which are the muscles that run down either side of your neck. I think they’re lovely, and have quite a nice name, as well. I’m over at sweetavenue.org.
Hi, Krissa! I’m Kristy. Not sure how I found your site, but I’m a daily reader and have been for quite some time. The simple thought of Ricotta cheese makes me cringe, so I’ll go with that as my least favorite food. I don’t really have a favorite word…the words that fly out of my mouth lately wouldn’t be appropriate for your lovely site!
Hi! I’m Kristin. I think you were one of my first blog finds, and you’re the second-best writer I’ve found in the ‘sphere. You may have the most distinctive voice.
I hate turnips because they taste like ass, and I love the word debauchery so much that I twisted it for use in my blog title – Debaucherous and Dishevelled at http://www.tallnlucky.blogspot.com.
Hello there Krissa! I’m Andrea. I blog at http://luciddream.typepad.com. I started it for a class last Spring and haven’t stopped since. I absolutely HATE goat cheese. But Shhh….don’t tell anyone because I’m a cheeseaholic and if word gets out they will kick me out of the cheese lovers club. I adore the word vicariously. I even said it in my sleep once in college.
Hi Krissa! My name’s Linus, and I blog over at Pepper of the Earth at http://www.web-ho.com/blog. I began to read you shortly after Mike Wolf died – his is the site that finally brought me to click over and visit.
I eat just about anything, but my least favorite food is tomato juice. It’s hard to explain, and I think it’s mostly visual – tomatoes are fine (tomato paste is a bit yucky, admittedly). That slicky sicky monstrous residue it leaves in the bottle may actually be the worst part. In any case, I can’t abide it in my mouth. This is a pity, because in a better world I imagine I would really like Bloody Marys.
The other three food no-no’s are lima beans (permanently ruined for me by the cardboardy Del Monte renditions of my frozen-food childhood), cranberry sauce (I know, I’m a freak), and white gravy, as in buscuits and gravy, which is in the same projectile-vomit territory as tomato juice. It would be ahead of tomato juice in the belly-emptying sweepstakes, but a guy can live a happy and productive life in New York City and hardly run into white gravy, so it’s less salient.
Oops, TMI.
My favorite word right now is multivious, and this is why. Friends of mine have a band called the Lascivious Biddies. They played at SXSW this year, and I was down writing up the conference for Music Dish Magazine. A hankering came over me to rhyme with their band name, which in this case is not as easy as it sounds.
Got out the prospecting gear (fingers, Google) and set to mining. What made it into the article was something about the Lascivious Biddies and their multivious ditties. I love a treasure hunt; there’s gold in them thar hills.
Hi, I’m J. I blog at schmassion.blogspot.com. I hate bell peppers because of the burp-retaste factor, but coming from an asian-wannabe background, I pretty much love to eat anything. Wait a sec… I just love to eat.
My favourite words are passion and spontaneous. Passion because life isn’t worth living unless it’s done with passion and spontaneous because it just feels good when it’s done right!
‘Allo Krissa! I’m Rebecca, and I’m from Larocque and Roll. I think I found your blog through She-Dork’s blog (because your blog came after mine, in alphabetical order
I cannot abide olives. I don’t know why, and lord knows I’ve tried to like them, but I can’t. I can’t even walk past the olive cart at the grocery store because the smell nauseates me. To all the olive lovers, I’m truly sorry.
My favourite word is “dragon”, perhaps because I was born in the Year of the Dragon.
I’m Smapte. I like to buy things and then talk about where to place them in a room. Sometimes I go places, and then I go more places, and then I come home and drink rosAY (the unsung hero of the wine world) and talk about how great it was when I was there with my friends Charlie and Arthur, who live in my pinky.
hi krissa! i’m a girl named james. i blog at semaphoria.com where i track the mundane details of my life in oregon including seperate blogs for knitting and pregnancy.
i’ve been lurking on your site for AGES, and occassionally try to visit le petit hiboux using the bookmark to your obsolete blogspot site.
i try not to hate any food on general principal but find that despite my best efforts i still find good ‘n’ plenty candy to be revolting. I love the word ‘lascivious’ after having discovered it on a sign posted in a penn station bathroom warning against any “lewd or lascivious” acts when i vistited nyc when i was 13.
i’m tessa and i don’t blog. (oh the shame!)
i hate mushrooms and cashews and i love crusty bread dipped in anything saucy.
Hey Krissa!
I’m Jenni from forever-star.com
The first entry I read here was about Stewart and how much you missed him, and I was going through a similar situation. I was very touched by what you said in that entry.
My least favorite food is Smelt (blech blech blech). My favorite word is tesseract, and has been since I was about six.
Hi I’m Mark.I am in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. I don’t have a blog, just read a bunch. My least favorite food is green beans and my favorite word is “lullaby”
Hola. My least favorite food is califlower and my favorite word is “peace.” Links below.
I’m Simon. Former Benedictine monk, current director of theatre at a small southern college. Originally from New York, came to your blog through a complicated series of clicks that started with Floodtide in Diaryland. Married, one kid getting ready to move to New York to start acting. Least favorite food? Banal, but liver. Favorite word? Silence. Really enjoy petithiboux — you’re a terrific writer.
Hi Krissa…Im Jen..Im from Va..Ive been reading for a while and so many times Ive wanted to tell you…you are a tremendously good writer. my blog is kind of boring ..but feel free to stop by and be well. Oh..yeah…least favorite food…Fish…which is terrible..because its so good for me. Favorite Word…Freedom.
Hi, Krissa -
I’m Lucrecia from NM. I used to live in NYC until almost a year ago, but moved back home where I’m a (baby) legal aid lawyer. I’ve been reading your blog for quite a while (no, I don’t have one), and it’s one of the few that’s kept my attention. Your writing is enviable and inspiring – I love it.
My least favorite food is menudo (tripe stew, not the band, heh). It’s so hard to narrow down my favorite word, but for today I’ll say “pout.” And in Spanish – “ronronear” which means purr. Roll those r’s – isn’t it perfect?
Hiya Krissa! I’m Brad, Biscuit’s former roommate. We’ve met a few times. I started reading your blog a while ago from Biscuit’s link and I liked it so much, I bookmarked it. I actually have a link to your blog from my blog which is at http://southernyankee.blog.com
My least favorite food is broccoli b/c the smell is absolutely rancid and I have 2 favorite words. One of them is from my native tongue (Southern) and it is “rurnt”, or in it’s proper form, “ruin”. The other is the adjective version of your favortite word, apparently – “serendipitous”. Partly b/c of the meaning and partly b/c of the way it sounds.
Hi Krissa,
I’m not a huge fan of eggplant (unless it’s parmasean — what isn’t good when it’s covered in breadcrumbs and cheese?)
I do, however, love the French word for eggplant: aubergine. Also adore reading your blog; thanks for keeping me entertained!
I’m Sophie. I don’t blog, but I do have a livejournal – very adolescent, I know. I hate smoked salmon. My favourite word (at the moment) is ridiculous.
Hi Krissa! Thanks for the lovely mention of my blog ‘Always Pack a Runcible Spoon’! I’ve got to confess that Thai Basil (the aniseed-y tasting variety of basil) is perhaps my least fave food … something to do with a liquorice flavour popping up in a context that is just all *wrong*!
Favourite word? Perhaps ‘runcible’, with the German for Guinea Pig (Meerschweinchen – lit. ‘little pig of the sea’ – what the??!) running a very close second.
Hi Krissa, I read your blog all the time, but I don’t have one of my own. My least favorite food is steak and my favorite word is monkey.
Hello!
I’m Maddy, I blog at http://www.closetspy.com, and I live in London. I hate hate hate frozen peas (though I always think I should like them, so can’t stop myself taking a mouthful every so often) and my favourite word of the moment is sesquipedalianism – just because it does exactly what it says on the tin!
Mx
Hey there, Krissa. I found your blog through your lovely husband’s blog which I found when googling, of all places, the horrific Galleria mall in Hatfield. Oh, and I have you to thank for sowing the seed of MUSTHAVEFRYEBOOTS in my head. Many thanks for that.
I write sporadically at http://alittledistraction.typepad.com, I cannot even stand the idea of ham and my favourite word, because I cannot say it and fail to smile, is Puppy.
Hey, krissa.
I got here via a link from This Fish. I keep a sorta-blog on Tripod. (That reminds me…gotta do an update…)
My favorite food: I love peanut butter. If it’s mixed with chocolate in some way, all the better.
My least favorite food: onions. I hate them. Hate them with all the hate may soul can muster.
My name is Mike. My favorite fruit flavor is banana.
Hello Krissa – I found you through This Fish’s blog! I have not yet started blogging but hopefully soon!
My least favorite food is potato pancakes – they just never taste good to me.
My favorite word is kumquat -because it almost always produces giggles when randomly thrown out in groups of people.
Thank you for your blogging!
Hi. I’m Jennifer. I can’t even remember how I found your blog but have read through all the archives and absolutely LOVE the story of you and Stuart. Keeps me hopeful…
I’m going to switch it up and I want to tell you my least favorite word because I have one I feel strongly about. Fern. It’s just dumb.
My favorite food…that’s tough. Probably my mom’s homemade carmel rolls. Yummy.
Hi Krissa,
I’m Rebekah — avid blog reader, not yet a blog writer. Yours is one of my first stops everyday — I started reading when someone linked to your fabulously inspiring love story.
I am currently pregnant, so my food tastes vary by the hour. Right now, I love cupcakes and my stomach turns at the idea of scallops.
Hey I’m Daisy and I blog-ish (when not overcome by writerly anxiety) at http://www.scardaisy.blogspot.com.
My least favourite food is black pudding. Ick – it’s made of blood for Christ’s sake!
My favourite word is perhaps. Or cariad – which means “loved one” in welsh…
D x
Hey k….enjoying your site for the last couple of months, and love hearing about you and Stuart…quite the love story!!
Favourite food is begals – with cream cheese or peanut butter…yum!
Favourite word, that is a harder one, I am going to have to go with Ratzinger, not because I’m Catholic or that I really care that much, I just can’t get his name out of my head!
(I’m Canadian – so my spelling is British English – so hope you don’t think I’m a knob..that is how “we” spell favourite!!) Cya.
Hi, Susannah here – I used to be a much avid blogger, but when I started wedding planning (I’ve been married a year now), I couldn’t seem to not blog about it. I do keep a blog now, but its just a journal about when I go to the gym and how well I’m doing at weight loss and all that jazz.
Favorite foods? Perhaps the combination of dark chocolate with raspberry is high on my list, but quite frankly I love a specific dish of tilapia with a macademia/rum butter sauce that is to die for.
Favorite word… I have lots of favorite words: entreat (so much nicer than beg/plead/request), formidable, coquette, .. or if my 4 year old says it, “toot” (as in, “eeewwww somebody tooted”)
of course I can’t read directions – least favorite food is hands-down sauerkraut. woof. Or perhaps a particular type of field peas which have a very poor texture. *shudder*
I just can’t get enough of your writing! It’s really great
I don’t blog; just enjoy reading. My least favorite food is lima beans (I’m a consistency gal) and my favorite word is Ausgezeichnet! And yes, it must have the exclamation.
Hi Krissa,
My name is Marisa and I’m addicted to your blog. I found it about four months ago and it quickly became one of my regular morning reads. Thanks for sharing your story with all of us!
My least favorite food is badly cooked cabbage and one of my favorite words is chiaroscuro. I like the mental image it creates for me when I think it. My beloved blog is http://www.apt2024.blogspot.com.
I’ve been watching you two for about a year now and have loved it all.
Least favourite food (I see the Brit as influenced you spelling as it has mine): mint
Favourite word: Two words really, my favourite plant name, just because I love to say it.
Cimicifuga racemosa (sim-ee-see-foo-ga ray-see-moe-sah) Go on, say it five times fast.
Hi Krissa!
I found your blog through this fish and I love it!!
I don’t blog, but I do draw, sohosally.com. My favorite word, um, that’s a tough one, how about gruntled, as in pg woodhouse’s: “if not actually disgruntled, he was far from being gruntled”. Icky foods? Anything from the sea – a n y t h i n g – make me shiver.
Hallo…I’m Ian, I blog over at LiveJournal (I know, I know, purists insist those aren’t real blogs, but hey, it’s easy to use and I like the community feel, so sue me…lonecellotheory.livejournal.com). I can’t remember exactly when it was that I started reading your blog, but it’s been a while and always an enjoyable stop on the daily internet rounds. My favorite word is hyperbolic. I just like the way it sounds, more than anything else. Least favorite food…once, purely out of politeness, I was forced to eat this weird loaf of some kind of pinkish pressed meat product with little pockets of mayonnaise in it. I don’t know what it was, but it was horrible and made me violently ill.
dude, ian, that made me a little ill reading it.
you guys are unbelievable! 84 comments! jeez! i love y’all.
hi, i’m amber. i don’t like canned asparagus b/c it’s mushy though fresh asparagus is nice, but i love the word “plethora” b/c it’s just cool.
Hello,
I am Nancy. I blog here http://www.uncollaborative.blogspot.com
My least favorite food is cottage cheese because it looks like someone already ate it. I love the word proprioception.
Hullo Krissa, I’m Ren.
I sometimes post at http://www.e_monkey.blogspot.com, but not lately, cause I’m lazy that way.
I cannot stand chicken wings. Something about the flesh…*urg*
My favourite word is fucknut. Oh, and wanker.
Hi Krissa, I’m Squara. I first came here about a year ago. I visit on & off, maybe twice a week??
I blog at http://www.squaraville.blogspot.com. My least favorite food is pork. My most favorite word is skeleton.
Hello! My name is Keely, but I go by KVB (used to be Sunshine) in blogger world. I’ve been reading your blog for almost two years and enjoy every second of reading your take on things.
My least favorite food is hard boiled egg, but I love scrambled and omlettes (go figure).
My fave word is: Soulmate, and it’s so much better than my old favorite word (fuckface). Ah, how love has changed me!
My blog is Sunshine Days at http://www.littlemisssunshinegirl.blogspot.com
Hi,
I’m Brita.
My blog is http://www.brinki-dink.blogspot.com
I have two least favorite foods EGGS and MUSHROOMS. It has something to do with the slime factor.
My most favorite word is Poo-Pa: a term of endearment deriving from ‘pooper’. Try it on your cat or significant other; I promise they’ll love it!
peace girl,

Ninety comments! How out of control. I wasn’t going to introduce myself, but what the hell. I’m Jenn. I’m fairly sure we’ve never actually talked, but I was in your apartment once when Kate was still living there so I feel vaguely like I know you in some weird second-hand not-really-at-all-but-I’ve-heard-of-you kind of sense.
I despise mole sauce for its ruining of perfectly good enchiladas, and anything in the hotdog/sausage family for being flat out gross. My favorite word actually is glorious (how boring, hey?). I actually rather dislike the word blog and feel pretentious using it in reference to anything I write, but I keep an utterly boring and self-centered web journal and have been for something like six years.
I’ve been reading your site on and off since back when you were less than optimistic about love, which must have been eternities ago… I can barely remember, anyway.
WOW you’ve got a lot of readers; I suddenly feel like I’m part of some large and very creative club.
I’m Sarah; I’ve been reading you for about 2 years now thanks to Bryan Adams. I am a passionate traveler and I always enjoy hearing about your exotic childhood.
I don’t enjoy plums or apricots. My favorite word is artistic.
hi krissa. i’m romy. i currently blog from brighton or cambridge (MA, not UK, alas). least favorite food – i’m gonna go with tripe. most favorite word – alhamdoulilah, which is arabic for “thanks be to god” (basically). i like it for the dips and lilts of its vowel sounds, and for how melodic and contrasting it is. also, i like what it means.
as always, thanks for posting. it’s nice to meet so many of your faithful readers!
Hi Miss K, you know me and you know where I blog.
My most hated food has to be licorice, but I like anise flavoring, so go figure.
I like all kinds of words and I truly, madly, deeply despise the word ‘slacks’, meaning a pair of pants or trousers. Think about it, doesn’t it make you feel diseased? SLACKS. It just makes me shudder.
I’m Laura. As I have no blog of my own, I usually visit yours a couple of times a week. I hate banana chips (the smell is nauseating) and I love the word “umgebung” (oom-gay-boong), a German word that sounds like it’s bouncing (but doesn’t mean anything interesting or poetic).
Hola. Soy Patricia. Vivo en Virginia y en realidad no se porque estoy contestando en español. So yeah. Hi. Least favorite food even though eating it would make me as strong as Popeye: spinach. Most favorite word: Hmm. propitious or anything with double Rs.
Hi, I’m Johnny from Germany, reading your blog for more than two years. I hate tomatoes (except ketchup) and fish (except fish sticks). Found you at nycbloggers.com, looking for Astoria Boulevard …
Hi, I’m Stephanie. I blog at http://finallyawinner.blogspot.com. I hate sauerkraut because it’s disgusting, and so is it’s definition: cabbage cut fine and fermented in a brine made of its own juice with salt. My favorite word is package. I like the way it sounds outloud and I like it’s every connotation.
Oh, and I come by daily, and am rightly disappointed when you haven’t been here first.
i’m bec. i sometimes post on the group blog skaroff.com. my least favorite food is chocolate mint (love them separately, hate them together) and my most favorite word today is bristle. i’m an avid fan, and have been reading since soon after your wedding.
Hi I’m Krystyna. I blog via http://www.thingssaidinpassing.blogspot.com. I found your site, as many others have, via This Fish while avoiding law school reading. My least favorite food is squid and calamari and my favorite word this week is amuck. It’s creates such a forceful sound…except for those with gappy teeth. Then, it’s just an unpleasant spit shower.
Hi, I’m Paul. I know Stuart and had the pleasure of meeting you once in Camden
My weblog is at http://www.antigeek.net/words though it could do with a lick of paint. Least favourite food would have to be anchovies because if I wanted a mouthful of salt then I’d just eat some salt and their unexpected appearance everywhere bugs me. Favourite word is definitely ‘essentially’ which I over-use massively.
hello sugar,
my name is cara and i spend a little too much time on the net when i should be doing other things [hello, thesis]. i don’t blog because that would be one more reason to waste more precious said time.
i’ve been reading you sporadically for a few years now, when i think back it is like chronicaling my procrastination, and the denial/avoidance part of my brain kicks in so the details become fuzzy… nevertheless it was way before you made the move to your own domain name, when you wanted to be a lawyer and were much younger [uh, der]
i think you’ll write some wonderful books and i’ll get a little thrill buying one someday, feeling like i slightly know, through your generosity here, you in that strange netty way.
i like the word subtle,
i dislike pork
and i love bacon
the word i like least is ‘teh’, typed incorrectly.
Hi Krissa, I love how you and your husband got together – made me long for cookies, milk and a comforter. I blog at http://margaritasandmiaows.blogspot.com – my least favourite food has to be dill and my favourite word is serendipity (and i saw the movie and ate at the cafe, not got the t-shirt)
