I’ve been: sweating my fairywings off wearing fishnets in the sun, driving around Brooklyn, getting drunk with Barrie and talking about soulmates, taking epic naps, getting excited about our trip to England, playing with Stuart’s newly shorn hair, reveling in our air conditioning, referring to the laptop as “the baby”, singing lullabies and power ballads on stage, thinking about baseball games, having dreams about saving Ernest Hemingway from himself in a post-modern world, listening and laughing to So Long and Thanks for all the Fish, enjoying pints of Stella, hearing lines of Midsummer in my sleep.
All things I’d post about, again, if I wasn’t too busy doing them. What have you been doing?

studying for the bar exam and studying for the bar exam some more. also, as a side project, planning a wedding, of sorts. because i’m crazy and thought that it would be fun to have a wedding 2 days after the bar exam.
break a leg (or a fairy wing?) in the play!
getting ready for 2nd year of law school, moving into the city, and preparing for post-schelping roadtrip. extra sweating.
I’ve been:
Unpacking wedding presents; doing laundry, writing thank-you notes; drinking Corona; barbequing; buying lots and lots of berries; riding my bike around the neighbourhood and lusting after houses; dreaming about the future; sweating.
I’ve been: waiting for you to update (ha!), starting my first week at a new job, meeting lots of people, cooking eggplant and tomatoes, drinking gallons of water, planting flowers on the balcony, doing laundry, completng lessons in an Italian language book, procrastinating with regards to making my Italy scrapbook, experimenting with various espresso measurements in my cappuccino machine, and eating frozen red cherries.
I’ve been: jumping out of airplanes, wrapping bits of canteloupe with prosciutto, laughing at the deli counter girl who didn’t know how to pronounce prosciutto, burning CDs for my sister, riding the bus, swimming 3/4 of a mile, playing mah jong, and missing the unholy fuck out of my city.
I’ve been:
Traveling to different towns around Arizona that are notorious for their ghosts, purchasing lots of camisoles, making chai lattes, eating mac and cheese, returning overdue library books, wondering about what your soulmates conversation entailed, experiencing lust deceitfully disguised as a feeling on its way to being love, missing my family, and anticipating a new school year while trying to remind myself just how adorable first graders are in August….
Trying to fit a trip to the Von King Cultural Center Amphitheatre into a 26-hour business trip to New York Saturday. Unfortunately, I will have to try, try again another time. Hope it went well!
I’ve been anticipating a week at the beach (only 2 weeks until its here-yay!), reading Harry Potter, watching the tour de France, Gilmore Girls and Bollywood’s Bride and Prejudice, reorganizing my office, trying to get back on a budget, feeling melancholy at how fast summer speeds by and hiding out in the cool air-conditioned house.
I’ve been to Portland, OR to visit my parents, pick blueberries, play on the coast and go to many thriftstores.
I’ve been ending one job and preparing to start another.
I’ve been talking a dear friend through a painful break up.
I’ve been trying to make myself into a runner.
I’ve bowled, gotten drunk, had a civil conversation with an ex, lost luggage and generally tried to live my life, each moment at a time.
I’ve been drinking real tea, filling up accounting ledgers for my father and deepening my appreciation of real accountants who do this every day for years, being infatuated with my brother’s dog (classic case of puppy love), putting my hair in little braids, wanting a baby, getting to know my new roommate, winning an mp3 player on ebay, having just enough smirnoff that I’m pleasantly loopy and then can’t stop talking, and, whilst in that state, trying to draw family trees to prove that I’m not related to the only man who is at this point, the only one I would even consider marrying.

Jumping out of airplanes in Colorado, sweating through my suits at work, studying for the GREs, finishing “Harry Potter 6,” working, workng, working. miss you
Being very, very hot. How did the play go, anyway? Good crowds?
I was looking through some of your old archives and came across a rant on Texas and how awesome it is. I’m here to tell you that I’m re-posting it on my blog (and linking to you, of course!!), because I just moved to NYC and I miss the hell outta Texas.
No, I think you’re right… really, are there any Native Americans at all in Texas? I realize that it’s a big ol’ state, but I’ve lived there all of my life and the only Native Americans I’ve met have been in Oklahoma (the Canada of Texas).
I think I’ve been enjoying your blog.
but also, I’ve been filling a large strawberry pinata with many sugary delights and pink bracelets. I’ve been watching my son take his first steps. I’ve been wondering if the world is passing me by. I’ve been obsessed with my brown leather wrist cuff. I’ve been gluing red and pink feathers to paper party hats for my daughter’s birthday party. I’ve been consuming large quantities of watermelon and dreaming of a lavish pedicure in an over-priced salon. I’ve been enjoying the flicker of the lightening bugs at night. I’ve been to the drive-in and I’ve been doing my fair share of sweating, too.
